Quality & Yield Engineers
Importance
Quality Engineers and Yield Engineers drive overall improvements to product quality, yield, and reliability. This is done by monitoring processes to ensure that the work complies with necessary standards and parameters and provide a baseline for enhancements.
Background Required
Degrees (Quality Engineers have diverse degrees within Polar):
- BS, MS, PhD
- Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other closely related fields.
Helpful but not required
- Semiconductor classwork or certificate
- Cleanroom lab experience
Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve elements of the Polar Quality Management System to meet industry quality standards (ISO9001, TS16949, AS9100).
- Drive improvement to Quality Programs, such as, Line Yield, Change Management, Defect Density Reduction, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Develop and sustain process improvements to reduce production problems and costs, and to improve product quality and yield.
- Work cross-functionally to drive problem-solving, process mapping, and quality improvement activities.
- Interface with customers to improve the quality, yield and reliability of Polar products.
